A leader in defensive aggregation and data on non-practising entities

With more than 20 years experience in intellectual property, Daniel McCurdy has held prominent positions at several highly regarded technological companies including Lucent Technologies and IBM. Today, McCurdy is senior vice president at RPX after the company acquired PatentFreedom, the online, subscription-based global authority on non-practising entities that McCurdy co-founded. Until 2014, McCurdy was also CEO of Allied Security Trust where he was responsible for management of the trust, patent acquisition and divestiture negotiations and membership expansion. In 2001 McCurdy co-founded ThinkFire, an IP advisory firm providing services to many of the world’s leading technology companies and private equity firms.  He served as the company’s CEO until May 2008.

McCurdy recently chaired an effort for the Center for American Progress providing IP policy recommendations to the Obama administration, and served on the Intellectual Property Policy Committee of the US National Academies.
