Former president of the European Communities Trademark Association

A former president of European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA), David Tatham is one of only seven ECTA members of honour. His numerous professional positions have included: consultant to WIPO; director of INTA; chairman of the Trademarks Working Group of UNICE, chairman of the Trademarks Working Group of the Confederation of British Industry; and president of the Trademarks Patents and Designs Federation. Tatham has also served on the Council of the Institute of Trademark Attorneys, and in 1994 was made an officer of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen for services in the field of trademarks.

A trademark attorney, Tatham retired from Imperial Chemical Industries PLC in 1994 where he was head of its trademarks department. He is now an arbitrator in domain name disputes for WIPO, NAF, Czech Arbitration Court, and (formerly) Nominet UK.
