James Malackowski

A pioneer of IP transactions and strategic patent consultancy.

Inducted in 2022.

Best known as the founder of Ocean Tomo, he previously established Peterson & Co’s IP valuation practice in 1985, before co-founding the IPC Group in 1988. A past president of the Licensing Executive Society, Malackowski has served as an expert before the courts on more than 50 occasions. Notably, these include the recent Centripetal Networks v Cisco Systems case, in which the plaintiff was awarded $1.9 billion in damages.
